Since its inception in 2014, the ACCF has established itself as a climate financing mechanism that supports preparatory activities and small-scale adaptation projects across the African continent

In 2022, the Bank and the donors amended the scope of the Fund, and extended the duration to 2027, to ensure it remains responsive to the increasing needs of the continent

In 2021, the ACCF did not mobilize new resources. However, it continued with ongoing activities at the fund management and projects portfolio levels

In 2020, the Fund mobilized about $9.274 million from the Government of Flanders (€2.256 m) and from two new donors, Global Affairs Canada (CAD 7 m) and the Government of Quebec (CAD 2 m)

In 2019, the Fund made significant progress towards achieving its objectives with the ongoing portfolio of eight projects

[Annual Report - 2018] 2018 was also a good year for partnerships, with the ACCF strengthening existing and developing new collaborations

The year 2017 saw the scaling up of the ACCF to a multi-donor trust fund following contributions from the governments of Italy and Flanders, Belgium.

In its first nine months of operation alone, the ACCF Secretariat was formed, operational guidelines were prepared, and a communication strategy was devised and implemented.
