YouthADAPT Challenge 2023: Scaling Up Gender-Responsive Youth Innovations For Climate Action

We are delighted to share with you that the African Youth Adaptation Solutions Challenge #YouthADAPTChallenge 2023 is now accepting applications and hereby request you to kindly share this opportunity with your networks for them to submit their applications for our consideration.

This call for applications targets young female entrepreneurs with game-changing solutions for climate adaptation and resilience in Africa. What is in store for the enterprises?  

  1. $100,000 in grants to scale their venture  
  2. Tailored business development services to elevate their climate solutions and generate green jobs  
  3. One-year accelerator programme to amplify their impact  
  4. Mentorship and coaching  
  5. Joining the coveted YouthADAPT Alumni Network
  6. Creating new partnerships and share knowledge  

Eligibility criteria:  

  1. Have a 2-year-old growth-stage, women-owned businesses with innovative 4th industrial revolution solutions ethically impacting climate adaptation at scale  
  2. Must be aged 18-35 on the day of submission  
  3. Hold nationality (with official ID) from any of the 54 nations of Africa
  4. Be the founder/co-founder of the enterprise and play an active role in its operations and leadership  
  5. No criminal record related to corruption, tax evasion, financial impropriety, felony or other offenses

#YouthADAPTChallenge 2023 is part of the African Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP) powered by The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) and the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) with support from The Africa Climate Change Fund (ACCF) hosted by the Bank.
